One of my favorite jets, and many pilots have said the finest "pilot-flown" aircraft to come from
the drawing boards of any design shop in the world, the F-15 Eagle, after more than
35 years in service
(counting from its first flight), continues to be a formidable presence in the Air Superiority role.
This section contains photos of a project I completed for a friend of mine - Tamiya kit #60304. Long in the tooth
(the kit, not the friend...) but still
an outstanding model. So nice, in fact, that I have two more in my stash, one of which is earmarked
to be built as an aggressor in the cool blue/grey paint scheme. Use the "Section Pages" menu at
lower left to view all the pages in this section. Click on any photo to see a larger

For this project, in addition to the excellent (though not perfect!) Tamiya kit, I used the following
aftermarket add-ons:
- Eduard photo-etch and masks
- Cutting Edge 'burner cans
- HobbyDecal dry-transfer stencils
- Custom-made markings
Since this model is destined for the shelf of a long-time friend, it received the "full
treatment." Overall a very satisfying project. It is interesting to note that
while the kit itself is of typical Tamiya quality, it does require significant TLC to correct
some fit issues which on a smaller-scale model would be much more easily remedied. Even
the perfect 1/32nd scale has drawbacks...
